2025 has been a milestone year at Headlands Research, marked by continued growth, new opportunities for sponsors, and strategic partnerships that position our network for the future. Now, our team is looking forward to connecting with peers and partners at upcoming conferences through the year-end.
Expanding Our Network and Capabilities
The first half of the year marked several important achievements for Headlands Research that expand our reach and strengthen our mission to improve lives by advancing innovative medical therapies:
Launch of the Association of Multisite Research Corporations (AMRC)
In January, Headlands Research became a founding member of the AMRC, a new trade association formed by 14 leading multisite clinical research corporations (MCRCs). With a global footprint of more than 370 sites and nearly 900 PIs, AMRC highlights the unique strengths of MCRCs, such as scalability, centralized operations, data consistency, and robust support for investigators. Through this collaboration, Headlands is helping to shape best practices and demonstrate the efficiencies that MCRCs bring to sponsors, CROs, regulators, and ultimately, participants.
Acquisition of CMRCenter (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
In July, we welcomed CMRCenter (CMRC) into the Headlands network, bringing our site total to 22 across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. This acquisition offers sponsors turnkey access to one of the largest Hispanic participant populations under FDA oversight, accelerating enrollment in vaccine, CNS, and specialty studies.
Opening of Headlands Research Twin Cities (Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN)
In August, we opened our 23rd fully owned site, strategically located in the Upper Midwest. Headlands Research Twin Cities provides pharmaceutical sponsors and CROs with single-contract access to diverse participant populations in a region known for innovation and excellence in healthcare.
THL Partners Acquisition of Headlands Research
Also in August, we announced a definitive agreement for Headlands Research to be acquired by THL Partners, a premier private equity firm. This partnership will fuel our continued expansion, strengthen our centralized infrastructure, and enhance our ability to deliver high-quality, diverse clinical trial data for sponsors worldwide.
