San Francisco, CA, June 28, 2023—Headlands Research, a leading multinational network of clinical trial sites, today announced that the company’s Board of Directors has appointed Kyle Burtnett as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 3. Kyle succeeds interim CEO Cathy Collins, who will remain closely involved with Headlands Research as a board member and advisor to the CEO.

Kyle has extensive experience scaling and managing organizations across multiple healthcare sectors. Prior to joining Headlands Research, Kyle served as President of GI Alliance, the nation’s premier network of gastroenterology specialists, with over 800 physicians across 15 states. At GI Alliance, Kyle played a key role in supporting the organization’s rapid growth and ensuring a highly successful physician-led recapitalization of the business at a $2.2 billion valuation. Kyle also worked directly with GI Alliance’s industry-leading GI clinical research function with more than 20 sites. Prior to GI Alliance, Kyle spent 17 years at Tenet Healthcare, where he held multiple executive leadership roles, including COO and Interim CEO of Conifer Health Solutions and CEO of Tenet’s Outpatient Services Division.
